How to Consciously Win the Lottery

by Keith Ryan

"Winning the lottery is a mind game," explains the author of this article who, as a lottery winner himself, wrote a book to explain how to play it. All it takes is the capacity to visualize your dreams and to believe in them. Let's dream our way to prosperity, then, with these powerful suggestions.

You have a bright idea, say, you want to get a raise. You support this idea with other ideas: You think you deserve it. You think that the merits of your work make it inevitable. You are an asset to the company and you should be making more.

The Power of Personal Beliefs

These supportive and empowering ideas are what allow you to believe that you will get a raise. Or, you could have said to yourself: Maybe I don’t deserve a raise? More money would probably mean more work and responsibility, right? Besides, I’d never have the courage to ask for one.

Because if that is what you reinforced your idea with, then you already intuitively know that you will not be getting a raise. Why? You did not BELIEVE in the idea. You believed in something else (not getting one). Believing an idea - a thought - is what brings those very ideas into fruition.

We’re all the same, us humans, it’s our personal beliefs that make me me and you you. Recognizing what it is we believe in, and then supporting those beliefs, are how we accomplish our goals and dreams. Indeed, they are how we decide what our dreams and goals are to be.

Admit it, you are the one who says, I can do that. I can’t do that. I am this. I want that...

Dream Big

Imagine you are sitting in a comfortable chair in a quiet room. There is no one around to disturb you. Your eyes are closed. You can think about anything you desire.

What comes to mind? Can you allow yourself the freedom to dream big? Are you capable of letting go and imagining yourself in the best situation possible, the most fantastic thing you could want to wish for yourself? Can you imagine how incredible it would be to pull off whatever it is you dream of?

The only person who believes it can come true and the only person who believes it can’t come true is you.

Y-O-U.

Is it real to you? Is it achievable and desirable? Or do you tell yourself that it’s just a pipe dream and can’t possibly come true? Because you know, either way, you are saying that you CREATE your life. It’s your dream. They’re your ideas about your life. And you are free to think anything you want.

And if something is not going well, you are free to change your ideas about that and thus change the circumstances.

Living Your Thoughts

You’ve all heard about the girl who just knew she was going to make it. Nothing was going to stop her. She was acting on a truth for her and her alone, it didn’t matter what anybody else said - she was going to make it.

You have also heard about the guy who never believed in himself, never dreamed big enough to imagine that he could ever be anything. Always found reason to shoot down the idea.

You can see exactly who those people are by the image of themselves that they project -- by the lives they are living. And you know -- she will make it. He won’t. Those people are living their personal beliefs about themselves. We all do it.

By recognizing what your current beliefs are - by examining what constitutes your current life - you can see what you like and dislike about your circumstances. And then you can change that which isn’t what you want. How? By believing in something else.

When you believe in it, you will become it. And if you stop reinforcing the old ideas, you will become the new ones. You are currently living the life you are projecting in your head. It is a reflection of your inner thoughts. The ones you have all day long that judge and regard and create what you see as your real life, the one you live and walk through every day.

So, if in your head you are worrying about money and bills, then you are focusing, investing energy into that, thinking about how dire your situation is. And in your real life, you continue to experience money shortages and the bills keep piling up and things ARE dire, then realize that your current ideas are constantly reinforcing the outcome you are currently living.

This life, it didn’t come out of nowhere, it came out of your thoughts, which came out of your own mind.

Visualizing Your Dreams

Ok, what does this have to do with consciously winning the lottery? Well, your thoughts, coupled with a powerful technique widely used by world class athletes -- and one you can do from the comfort of your couch -- can allow you to consciously choose to win the lottery.

Here’s how it happened for me. The summer Olympics are on. I’m sitting home watching a very exciting race that climaxes in a new world record.

It’s a beautiful performance. The winner is interviewed right afterward. Gasping for breath, he says, "Oh, this was no surprise. No, no, no, no, no - I knew I was going to win. I have been focused on this for four years. I made this happen. I made this dream come true. I did it."

I did it... Hmm. This guy is telling me that he somehow created, long before the race was ever actually run, a knowledge that he was going to win. He knew it. How could he know it?

This led me to do some research and I found out that virtually all world class Olympic and professional athletes use the same training technique. ALL of them. The same one!

There is a quote in the April issue of Men’s Health magazine by Tommy Moe, 1994 U.S. Olympic gold medalist in downhill skiing, about this technique. "I like to relax at the top of the course by taking deep breaths and visualizing beating the pants off everyone. The mental picture was corny, but the strategy got me the gold, and I’m willing to bet it’ll work for you."

And how! This technique is responsible for patterning the athletes to be winners - in their own minds. First. Long BEFORE the actual event happens in their real lives.

In other words, they are saying that life does not just happen to you! You create what you want to happen by reinforcing your thoughts and beliefs that it will happen. You do it with mental imagery.

These elite athletes would not use this technique unless it produced results! Right? So if this technique can win you a race, or a medal, or a sporting event, why CAN’T it "win" you a better job, a raise in pay...the lottery? Hmm...

About the Book

I wrote a book, FOUND MONEY - How To Consciously Win The Lottery (click here and read the book's review). It’s not a book about how to better your odds, increase your luck, or play some new system.

Instead it simply says this: Winning the lottery is a mind game. FOUND MONEY explains how to play the game. There is no beating around the bush, no alignment of the stars and moon to make it right, no bull -- this small book is just impassioned straight talk from a guy who is living a good life.

I’m not saying do it my way, I’m saying this is how I did this. There is no mystery in any of this, it just requires you to examine what you believe in. You want to be rich, you can be rich.

You can consciously choose to win the lottery. You live the life you think. Your life is a reflection of the thoughts and ideas and beliefs that you hold to be true. Check it out; your life is a lot more fluid that you imagine!
