The Association "Fili e colori" (Threads and colours), operating since 1984, is involved in the recover, study, promotion and spread of bobbin lace traditional techniques, in particular Cantů lace and Milanese lace: starting from some English books concerning this old italian lace technique, the school promoted a real rediscover of this fine traditional work.

The Association has annual lace courses to learn bobbin lace at different levels; on another hand, the association has also ceramic painting courses. Every two years the works of people attending all the courses are presented in a show that takes place in the beautiful Villa Camilla, an old building in Olgiate Comasco.

The Association has always been participating with good results to the main lace exhibits in Italy and abroad, in particular to Sansepolcro International Lace Biennial and Cantů Lace Biennial, as well as the International lce contest organised in Le Puy En Velay (France).

In 2003 the Association took also part with a stand and a stage, to the 1st Italia Invita Lace and Embroidery Forum
