Mixing Frame Rates in a Composite
For the best results, all Footage operators used as layers in a composite should match the frame rate of the composite. Mixing footage of varying frames rates in a composite is allowed in combustion; however, you may experience some minor timing and/or duration differences when applying some operators, such as Paint, to these layers.
If you plan to use footage of different frame rates in a composite (for example, a 25 fps image sequence in a 30 fps composite), there are two recommended options to ensure that no timing variances occur:
- Nest the footage first, checking to make sure the frame rate of the nested composite matches the result composite, then apply your operators to the nested composite layer.
- Set the Time Scale list to Local Time. Local Time displays the duration as the start and end points of the current operator in the viewport. (Global Time displays the duration of the highest level operator in the current branch, and displays the duration of all other operators in that branch relative to this time.)
