Arranging Nodes

You can arrange the Schematic nodes in an orderly way using Layout and Auto Layout. These features are similar to the commands for arranging and auto-arranging icons on the Windows and Macintosh desktops.

To arrange nodes:
  1. Select the nodes you want to arrange.
  2. Right-click (Windows) or Ctrl-click (Macintosh) in the Schematic view and choose Layout, or press L.
  3. Note: To quickly arrange all nodes, click the gray area of the Schematic to deselect all nodes, then press L.

Using Auto Layout

You can set the Schematic to arrange itself automatically as changes are made to the process tree. For this feature, the changes include adding and deleting nodes, and changing node connections. The nodes are also arranged when you show the Schematic view in a viewport.

To automatically arrange nodes:
  1. Choose File | Preferences, or press Ctrl+; (Windows) or Command+; (Macintosh).
  2. In the Schematic group, click General.
  3. The Schematic preferences appear.

  4. Enable Auto Layout.
  5. Click OK.
