Setting Composite Bit Depth

You can set the bit depth when you create a composite. The Composite operator changes the bit depth of all layers to match the selected setting.

If you open footage into a new composite (using File | Open), the composite settings (including bit depth) are taken from the first piece of footage selected. You can always change the bit depth of the composite later.

To change composite bit depth:
  1. In the Workspace panel, select the Composite operator.
  2. Click Output to show the Output controls.
  3. From the Bit Depth list, select another bit depth.
  4. Note: LUT controls are not available for the composite; you can access them in the Footage or Bit Depth Converter operators instead.
