Casting Shadows on 3D Objects

You can shade the surfaces of objects in a rich pixel rendering. Shadows correctly show the effects of lights in combustion. Shadows and reflections are also correctly rendered onto 3D surfaces.

Note: This feature requires that you render the Z (Z Depth) and Normal channels as part of the RPF or RLA file in 3ds max.

To apply shading, shadows, and reflections to 3D objects in a rich pixel rendering:
  1. In the Workspace panel, click the rendered layer to select it and display the Composite controls.
  2. In the Layer controls, enable 3D Shading.
  3. In the Settings controls, enable Shading and Shadows.
  4. Shading, shadows, and reflections are correctly rendered on the 3D surfaces in the rendered scene.
