Over 50 experts including medical doctors, biologists, epidemiologists, statistic and bioinformatic analysts are currently working on the Shardna project. Thanks to its team of researchers, the cooperation of Genos Park, a consortium that coordinates local research and the Institute of Population Genetics, Shardna has already obtained a number of important results including the identification of one of the genes and the related protein variant predisposing to kidney stones. Numerous loci associated with hypertension, obesity and vision disturbances have also been identified.
