Before the war Terry was comparatively unknown ecept in London's smarter 

Night Clubs such as the   Coconut Grove and Paradise. 

He made his variety debut at the Tivoli Theatre Hall in 1939 

and appeared must successfully as a drunken exibition dancer 

in a picture titled "Rhythm in the Air".

 During the war years he served first with The Royal Corps of Signals 

and was later transferred to "Stars in Battledress" 

of which the Commanding Officer he was George Black, 

who with brother Alfred, present "Out of this world": 

With the Battledressed Stars he Toured through 

France, Belgium, Holland and Germany.

Dog Show.  

One Saturday, the Show was opened by the radio comedian Terry-Thomas.

The biggest attaction preveded to be the dog Show wich was first. Mr. J.D.Perry.
