Just as the official site of "La Checine de Nononne" comes out not only in Italian, but also in Spanish and ( as early as possible ) in English and (as early as possible) Bari's dialect, I may say that it has realized the first part of a dream, that of giving a contribution to enforce and maintain the soul of "baresità".

It was the dream of my father, Giovanni Panza, who spent so much of His life tracing and writing in Bari's dialect, a cultural itinerary that, through the rediscovery of traditions and gastronomy, could supply to young people a linkage with the roots of a surely difficult, but lovely land.

By His literary production and, above all, by the book "La Checine de Nononne", really a Bible for Bari's gastronomy, has been inspired this project, some steps of which have now been realized.

First of all, the opening of a restaurant, "Il Pepe Finto", that will increasingly try to supply, to Bari's people and others, a meeting point to relax and pursue that delicious cuisine that, while once was food for poor people, is now the best part of the "Mediterranean diet", the unique, the true, the healthiest diet to follow by people wanting to eat in a wholesome way.

Following this we have started a serious Web Page that aims to be not just an advertising tool for the restaurant, but a stage available for every Bari person from all over the world in order to recreate a circle of affection for a common love: Bari.

In this project I have found an enthusiastic helper in a young entrepreneur from Bari, Maurizio Fanelli; clear proof of how the exaltation of "baresità", intended as culture and autonomous and original civilization, represents true value for our youth.

I would like to thank, for their passionate cooperation two young professionists, Stefano Lamanna and Alessandro Indelli, who have given for this site not just their competence, but also their passion, my dear friend Gigi De Santis, valuable interpreter of "baresità", who has provided the version in Bari's dialect and the sweet Anna Mirabile who, from her curiosity for the ancient Latin gastronomy, object of her wonderful academic dissertation, has gone on to collect news of local and international life.

But, above all, I would thank my dear friend Mauro Fanelli, untiring researcher of everything good and beautiful that Bari's soul can bring to the table.
