Agrigento - Valle dei Templi

We started walking in the "Valle dei Templi" (Valley of the Temples). First we walked towards the Concordia temple, following all the tourists. We just followed these people. This temple is the biggest one in Sicilia, it has also been kept well, and the weather was perfect on that day, so we really enjoyed our sightseeing in Agrigento.

It was nice to walk in the valley. There were many olive tree, flowers, but not that many people because most of people move from temple to temple by coach. We had a picnic on the way to the museum, we just had sandwiches.
Museum

There was an original Telamone in this museum.(left side on the right). Ancient people used to have put many of this statues on the temple. It is seriously big (right picture), I have no idea how they did such a crazy work!!

There are another two temples. One is located in east side, called Giunone temple (on the left). The other one is in the west, called Ercole (on the right). Ercole is the oldest dorian temple in Agrigento. Anyway all of the temple were so big, and look almost the same to me. After visiting all of the temples, I already couldn't remember which one is which.

Piazza Armerina - Villa Romana del Casale

After noon, around 2:00pm, we started driving towards Piazza Armerina. There is a famous Roman ruin (3-4 A.D.), which has more than 40 rooms with mosaic floors in 4000m2 space.
This is not joking, all of the room's floor is covered with mosaic like a bathroom in a modern house. All of the designs are different and realistic. I really want to have a bathroom full of mosaics like this!

Entrance

Lido di Noto

We left Piazza Armerina and drove towards Lido di Noto. In our first schedule, we planned to stay in Noto. But it was too late to find a hotel there. Some of them are fully booked, and others were closed. The town itself was very quiet because most of the bars and shops were closed, it seemed like a ghost town. So, what to do! We continued to drive around, and eventually arrived at Lido di Noto around 10 pm, then tried to fined somewhere to stay. This is seaside town, very quiet, and it was very difficult to find a hotel too. Fortunately wefound a small hotel, checked in and could go out for a late dinner. Actually, the food was really nice there. Especially the seafood, We finally felt "We are in Sicilia!!"
