Lido di Noto - Marzamemi - Portpalo |

In the morning, we drove towards
Pachino. On the way we stopped in a small town called Marzamemi for breakfast. It is very tiny and pretty town facing the sea. Then we continued to drive down to the south until Portpalo, the southern-most town in Italy (I believe) |

One of our friend (from Noto) recommended to get "Vino
Pachino". They have many kind of wine, we liked the sweet desert wine, moscato, best. We bought 30 litres from them, then continued driving north, towards Siracusa. |

Siracusa |

The ancient physicist Archimedes(287? - 212B.C.) was born here in Siracusa. There is a huge Greek theatre ( Teatri Greco ), and tomb at the top. Ancient people would have liked to see the theatre even after they passed away.
Latomia del paradiso - in ancient Greek times, people took the stones from here to construct the city. There is a 36m high cave, called"Orecchio di Dionisio ( Ear of Dionysus)", Dionysus is supposed to have used this as a prison.
Siracusa Old city | My favorite food "Bruscetta with Sea urchin".

We left Siracusa around 6:45pm and continued
to drive to Giardini Naxos - near to Taormina. On the way we could see the Mt.Etna - volcanic mountain. |
